📚Books and Music Tag🎶

Hello everyone! Since I performed at SHUFest today and books and music are two of my favourite things, I thought of doing the omg this song book tag created by Katesbookdate! Check out the original tag here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hm9eeABxK_Y&t=603s I will only be selecting 5 of the questions to answer.

MY JAM – a song you MUST listen to every time it comes on, no matter how old or how many times you’ve listened to it / a book you’ll never get sick of

The song

I could listen to all of their songs on repeat and never get tired of them XD This song is probably my all time favourite from them. It is so underrated in my opinion.

The book 📖

The time machine- H. G. Wells

I do not reread books often but I think I would never get tired of H.G. Wells’ books. His science fiction stories are so mesmerising and thought-provoking. The time machine is one of his shorter books which I feel is a good starting point if you want to read his books.

REPLAY – a recent song you have on repeat right now / a recent favorite book

The song

I recently found this song on Amazon music and I liked it instantly. There is something addicting about this song, especially the background music and the vocals. I dislike autotune usually but this song is an exception.

The book 📖

I contain multitudes- Ed Yong

I read this book a while ago but since I have mentioned my recent favourites in my wrap ups, I decided to go with this book. This book really made me rethink my views on microbes and how it affects all beings and life in general. The writing was equally humorous and informational. I think that is a difficult feat when it comes to books but the author did it so well! This is one of my favourite science books for sure.

LET’S GO – best pump up song (for workouts or just life) – a book that inspired you

The song

Most Bandmaid songs are really upbeat. Bubble is one of them. Their songs make me feel pumped up whenever I am doing something.

The book 📖

What would a Muslim say?- Ahmed Lofty Rashed

I am kind of cheating with this one. I have not finished this book yet but it is so inspirational to me. This book is inspiring me to be a better Muslim and rekindling my love for Islam even more than I already do. I am really grateful for this book!

CHILL – fave chill, relaxing song / a book you’d curl up with and read on a rainy day

The song

This song by Sufjan Stevens is so calming. It soothes me every time I listen to it. This is a perfect song to listen to while curling up with a book. I recommend his other songs- futile devices and mystery of love as well! Disclaimer: I do not support the ‘Call me by your name’ and the author in any way. I simply like Sufjan Steven’s music.

The book 📖

Bloom- Kevin Panetta

I love this book so much! It is so cozy and filled with warmth. The relationships are so sweet and heartwarming. It has lots of baking too!

NOSTALGIA – throwback you look back on fondly / a book you read forever ago that you look back on fondly or reminds you of a happy childhood time

The song

Sum 41 will always be one of those artists that hold a special place in my heart. Their songs have always been top notch. I tend to dislike a lot of the new songs from older bands that I love. However, for Sum 41, that is not the case! Anyway, Pieces is so nostalgic to me- it makes me want to cry and smile at the same time.

The book 📖

City of time- Eoin Mcnamee

I remember being gifted City of Time when I was around 10 or 11. This was one of the first fantasy books I read so it is a book dear to my heart. I remember really loving this book a lot back then. This book is certainly one that made me love reading a lot.

📖♪

Haha I wanted to end off with the same formatting XD This was a really fun tag to do. I hope this tag gave you an insight into a few of the genres I listen to. Of course, 5 questions is not enough to showcase my music taste but that is besides the point. I hope you got some book recommendations too! Do check out the original video as it is such a great tag. I hope you enjoyed reading this post. Till next time, take care 🙂
