An Introduction

Welcome to my blog!!!

I am so elated to finally post on my blog and I thought of doing a book tag to start off my blog because who doesn’t love book tags! (well, I am hoping you like them)

I will be doing Newbie book blogger tag as it is a fitting tag after all! Here are my answers and I hope you learnt something about me from this tag:

1. Why did you start this blog?

I simply wanted to share my thoughts on the books I have read and bring the spotlight on my favourite reads. Along with that, I want to encourage more people to read. Although I know that is a difficult thing to do, I feel that it is worth a try. I also hope to start discussions on the books I have read as we all have different opinions on what we read after all!

2. What are some fun and unique things you can bring to book blogging?

I am not sure if I can bring fun and unique things to blogging as I am not a creative person in general. However, if you enjoy reading content like monthly wrap ups- all the books I have read in a month, top favourite books, how to read more and favourite bookstores, you might find them fun.

3. What are you most excited for about this new blog?

I am most excited to start discussions on books. I love reading different opinions. Sometimes, I enjoy books that people didn’t like or vice versa. I find that so fascinating!

4. Why do you love reading?

I love reading for quite a number of reasons: βž€ Reading is a chance for me to escape from the real world (real life can be such a burden sometimes) and allows me to immerse myself in another world. ➁ I get a chance to experience a life other than my own, for instance, reading from a perspective of a person of a different race, sexuality, gender etc from me.  βž‚ I get a chance to educate myself on various issues or learn about different things such as science.  βžƒ It is just fun! Reading brings me joy just like how your favourite hobbies would bring you joy

5. What book or series got you into reading?

This one is a difficult question as I do not really remember what book/book series got me into reading back when I was a child. I did not really read popular books back then. I think I gravitated towards lesser known books. Perhaps, it was Your eyes in stars by M. E. Kerr or Sadako and the thousand paper cranes by Eleanor Coerr?

6. What questions would you ask your favourite authors?

I am not sure to be honest but perhaps the usual questions like “What inspired you to write *insert book name*”, “What inspired you to start writing?” and “What are your favourite books?”.

7. What challenges do you think starting a blog will be the hardest to overcome?

I think it will be the engagement on my blog as that is something that takes a long time to build up.

8. When did you start reading?

I believe it was when I was able to read but I distinctively remember my love for reading growing when I moved to Singapore back in 2008.

9. Where do you read?

I read anywhere where I am able to read- from my bed to coffee shops to restaurants to university etc. I always have a book with me wherever I go XD

10. What kind of books do you read?

I generally read anything that interests me! I do not have a set of genres I read- perhaps, more books from a certain genre but I believe I read from most genres. Here are some interesting charts that show you the genres I read from (Credits: BookSirens):

Thank you so much for reading my very first post! There are many more to come- I hope to post once every week! (due to my university schedule) Bye for now! Take care πŸ™‚
